Construction Inspector

Location: Kissimmee, Florida; Winter Springs, Florida; or Gainesville, Florida. Primarily outdoor field work with exposure to weather, noise, hazards, and bodies of water depending on project requirements.

What you will do

• Inspect, observe, document, and verify contractor work in progress for compliance with schedules, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Inspect materials and perform on-site material testing as required.
• Complete mathematical calculations, field measurements, and quantity measurements for completed work.
• Maintain daily reports covering work activities, contractor labor and equipment, and verified material quantities.
• Report contractor production rates and coordinate work and inspection phases with the contractor’s superintendent and agency personnel.
• Prepare as-constructed sketches and support documentation for final estimate packages.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 or more years of construction inspection experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Ability to obtain required certifications and pass applicable qualification tests within specified time frames.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor field work, including walking, standing, kneeling, crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 pounds.
