Manufacturing Engineer (Battery Energy Storage)

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; permanently located at the contract manufacturer's facility

What you will do

• Oversee the fabrication and integration of battery energy storage enclosures at a contract manufacturer.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, improve quality, optimize material usage, and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to test, validate, and implement manufacturing process changes.
• Develop and execute cost-reduction strategies while maintaining or improving product quality.
• Coordinate with quality, operations, procurement, and the contract manufacturer to align manufacturing objectives.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation, production reports, performance updates, and training for the contract manufacturer's team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in battery energy storage or a related industry.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with process improvement, cost reduction, manufacturing methodologies, lean manufacturing principles, and industry regulations.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States throughout employment without employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience working with contract manufacturers.
• Knowledge of battery energy storage systems and enclosure fabrication.
• Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
• Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
