Senior Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer (Manufacturing Engineering)

Location: Hillsboro, Oregon, United States; onsite manufacturing role

Salary: $90,000–$120,000 annually

What you will do

• Own sustaining productivity and quality activities for commercial CMP polishing pad products across machining and lamination processes.
• Disposition non-conforming materials, maintain SPC/SQC control limits, FMEAs, and Control Plans, and participate in customer quality and ISO audits.
• Lead continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, productivity, cost, process capability, and product variation reduction.
• Investigate manufacturing out-of-control conditions, troubleshoot equipment and processes, perform experiments, and implement corrective actions.
• Serve as the technical expert for manufacturing equipment and processes, provide operator and maintenance guidance, and support equipment breakdown resolution and preventative maintenance improvements.
• Develop Design of Experiment trials, manage product scale-ups, qualify new equipment, improve automation, and collaborate with development engineering and global engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Five or more years of experience with a bachelor’s or master’s degree is preferred; a PhD is also preferred.
• Experience with statistical software is required; experience with Minitab or JMP is preferred.
• Experience with manufacturing equipment using programmable user interfaces, manufacturing planning, raw material coordination, or capital project management is preferred.
• Experience with chemical blending, injection molding, or compression molding is preferred.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience managing capital projects and new equipment installations.
• Experience mentoring process engineering technicians and transferring manufacturing best practices across sites.
