Sr Product Development Engineer (Toy Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Support technical product innovation and develop creative toy concepts into manufacturable solutions.
• Provide feasibility feedback to Design and Product Managers during initial concept development.
• Assist with mechanism development, breadboard models, functional specifications, and engineering bills of materials.
• Translate toy design visions into technical specifications for development houses, tooling suppliers, and manufacturing plants.
• Provide design guidance and serve as a technical engineering liaison with Operations and cross-functional New Product Development teams.
• Support value engineering, advanced product quality planning, and routine engineering activities throughout product development lifecycles.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of experience in the toys or consumer goods industry.
• Understanding of engineering principles, toy development, plastic production, assembly techniques, materials, molding, tooling, automation, robotics, logistics, and sound.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Creo.
• Working knowledge of FEA, including the ability to read and understand results, plus knowledge of statistics and probabilities.
• Awareness of toy industry standards and regulations, including ASTM and ISO.
