What you will do
- Develop, verify, and approve materials for new product projects.
- Perform design for manufacturability analysis and work with suppliers on manufacturing processes, workflows, and cost-reduction opportunities.
- Coordinate with R&D, supply chain, quality, and other departments to deliver materials on schedule.
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for quality, design, delivery, and manufacturing issues.
- Organize material approval activities, track milestones, and manage approval documentation.
- Review and approve supplier Quality Control Plans covering critical characteristics and process controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in materials, mechanical, electrical, or a related field.
- Experience in material development or supplier quality management, preferably in electrical manufacturing, automotive, or industrial automation.
- Knowledge of metal and non-metal materials, including steel sheet, copper busbars, aluminum profiles, engineering plastics, and insulation components, as well as stamping, welding, injection molding, and surface treatment.
- Strong knowledge of DFM, design-for-assembly, cost analysis, technical drawing interpretation, supplier coordination, and structured problem solving.
- Experience with PPAP, FAI, Control Plans, FMEA, and 8D reports; familiarity with CAD, PLM, and ERP systems such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Windchill, or SAP.
- English communication skills required, both written and spoken, with the ability to coordinate effectively across departments and with suppliers.
