Assistant Manager (Hospitality)

Location: Cross Keys, Norton Fitzwarren, Taunton Road, Somerset, United Kingdom

Salary: £31,000–£35,000 per year plus bonus

What you will do

• Support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the pub and take ownership of shifts.
• Lead, coach, motivate, and develop the hospitality team while maintaining a positive, high-performing culture.
• Deliver high standards across service, food, drinks, cleanliness, safety, and customer experience.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales, grow the business, and attract repeat visits.
• Help develop and deliver the pub’s future events programme and build relationships with the local community.
• Lead the business in the General Manager’s absence and contribute ideas for the pub’s development.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader, or in a similar hospitality role.
• Strong people-management, communication, coaching, and team-development skills.
• Ability to lead by example, maintain high standards, and stay actively involved in daily operations.
• Commercial mindset with an interest in growing the business and improving customer experiences.
• Ambition to progress towards a General Manager role.
• Ability to work at the Cross Keys in Norton Fitzwarren, Somerset, United Kingdom.
