Electrical & Commissioning Engineer (Generator Protection Systems)

Location: Hungary, Portugal, or Poland; the role includes on-site commissioning, testing, and start-up activities.

What you will do

• Perform technical assessments, engineering evaluations, and project-specific designs for generator protection systems.
• Develop electrical schematics, protection concepts, and relay configurations.
• Analyze customer requirements and technical specifications to deliver compliant engineering solutions.
• Commission, test, and start up generator protection and electrical control systems on site.
• Diagnose electrical, protection, automation, and control system issues, including relay parameterization and functional testing.
• Collaborate with customers, site teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders while preparing commissioning reports and technical records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, commissioning, or field service, focused on generator protection systems.
• Strong knowledge of generator protection systems, protection relays, relay parameterization, electrical design, and control system architecture.
• Experience commissioning, testing, and starting up electrical and control systems in industrial environments.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Electrical Safety Certification and a Standard Field Service Safety Passport, such as SCC or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in German or Hungarian for project coordination.
• Professional experience in power generation or heavy industries.
