Product Engineer (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Design manufacturing methods, operation sequences, processes, and engineering solutions for parts, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
• Develop cost estimates, capacity models, time standards, production layouts, tooling recommendations, and process requirements for new product introductions.
• Create operating procedures, safety protocols, and maintenance plans for large-scale manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose production issues, recommend solutions, and drive continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with management, internal teams, and outsourced manufacturing and development partners on compliance, standards, issue resolution, and project execution.
• Provide technical direction and mentoring to less-experienced manufacturing engineering staff.

Requirements

• Four-year or graduate degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated competence.
• Typically 4–7 years of experience in engineering design, manufacturing solutions, or a related field; an advanced degree with 3–5 years of experience may also qualify.
• Knowledge of manufacturing engineering, manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing, process improvement, automation, tooling, and new product development.
• Experience with data analysis, project management, supply chain, engineering management, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to solve complex problems independently, prepare professional reports, and communicate effectively with cross-functional and external manufacturing partners.

Nice to have

• Six Sigma certification.
• APICS certification.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology, Python, software development, software engineering, systems engineering, or electrical engineering.
