Business Analyst, Product Development & Technology (Insurance)

Location: Springfield or Boston, Massachusetts, or New York, New York; full-time onsite role

Salary: $113,100–$148,400 per year

What you will do

• Lead requirements strategy for complex, cross-functional insurance product initiatives.
• Elicit, document, decompose, validate, and prioritize business and functional requirements.
• Partner with Product, Operations, Architecture, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Delivery teams to define solution approaches.
• Maintain requirements traceability across design, development, testing, implementation, and post-launch support.
• Facilitate working sessions, resolve ambiguity, and drive stakeholder alignment.
• Apply insurance domain knowledge to identify gaps, support quality validation, and strengthen solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 8+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Business Systems Analysis, Product Analysis, Systems Analysis, or a related technology delivery role.
• 3+ years of experience supporting insurance operations and technology initiatives, including areas such as Life, Annuity, Disability, Underwriting, Policy Administration, Billing, or Claims.
• Experience leading requirements for complex systems, integrations, vendor platforms, or cross-functional technology initiatives.
• Experience across requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, and production support.
• Proficiency with analysis and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, Visio, Miro, Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, or comparable tools.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of progressive Business Analysis or Business Systems Analysis experience, including leading analysts or serving as lead analyst on major programs.
• Advanced knowledge of insurance product development, product specifications, state filing considerations, regulatory impacts, and launch readiness.
• Experience with Agile, hybrid, and waterfall delivery models and related planning practices.
• Experience coordinating delivery with third-party vendors, managed service partners, or enterprise shared services.
• Professional certification such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, CSPO, SAFe, or Six Sigma.
