Business Analyst with Brokerage and Operations (Contract) (Fintech)

Location: Remote within the United States; Newark, NJ listed as the role location. Limited travel to client sites and team meetings may be required.

What you will do

• Elicit, analyze, document, and present client requirements through interviews, workshops, document analysis, data analysis, use cases, user stories, and workflow diagrams.
• Understand baseline products, modules, data models, functional and technical dependencies, and configuration methods for client solutions.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications and complete solution documentation with internal and external project teams.
• Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, developers, engineers, product specialists, client service managers, sales, and support teams on scope, estimates, resources, and priorities.
• Develop SQL scripts and supporting tools for data analysis, quality assurance, defect resolution, and system configuration.
• Manage JIRA workflows, deliver client training, and investigate UAT and production support issues.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in brokerage operations.
• Experience in financial technology, data services, and wealth-platform industries.
• Strong analytical skills, including data analysis, data relationship modeling, and data mapping.
• Experience writing business and functional requirements for software developers.
• Experience collaborating with software engineers, technical teams, QA testers, sales, customer support, client management, and operational support teams.
• Ability to liaise between business and technology teams, present to and negotiate with senior leaders, and navigate complex organizational structures.

Nice to have

• SQL skills.
• Experience supporting deployment, client requirements, or project oversight at client sites.
