Development Machinist (Aerospace)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite. Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an applicable U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Salary: $38.00–$50.00 per hour

What you will do

• Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models, then program, set up, and machine complex prototype parts.
• Create CAM toolpaths for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machining using NX, Esprit, or equivalent software.
• Select and procure tooling, fixtures, raw materials, and machining consumables.
• Operate CNC and manual machines to produce high-tolerance parts from varied materials, including deburring, finishing, and prototype assembly.
• Perform in-process inspections using precision inspection tools and methods.
• Collaborate with engineers on design for manufacturability, tolerances, fixturing, cost reduction, and machining processes.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on machining experience in a prototype, job shop, or R&D environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
• Strong CNC programming skills and experience setting up and operating 5-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes.
• Strong understanding of GD&T under ASME Y14.5 and technical blueprint reading.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and communicate effectively with engineering and other teams.
• Must be a U.S. Person or eligible to obtain an applicable U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Experience with NX CAM, manual machining, fixturing design, or custom tool making.
• Experience machining Inconel, titanium, and other hard or high-temperature alloys.
• Background in aerospace, medical, automotive, or high-tech product development.
• Experience independently sourcing tooling and materials, managing lead times, and delivering parts on schedule.
