Manufacturing Engineer (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite at hirify.global Auto Body California in Long Beach, California; residence within commuting distance is required. Candidates must have the right to work in the United States without current or future immigration sponsorship.

Annual base salary: $103,100–$167,600.

What you will do

• Develop and execute annual plans for equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and retrofits.
• Support stamping and bodyweld production processes and maintain press equipment.
• Coordinate major machine repairs with production engineering, internal departments, vendors, OEMs, and tool makers.
• Track equipment performance indicators and develop improvement plans to increase operational availability and improve MTTR and MTBF.
• Support team-member training and skill development during equipment repairs.
• Coordinate weekend, shutdown, overtime, and holiday work plans using hirify.global maintenance systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, or 5+ years of equivalent professional engineering or maintenance experience.
• Manufacturing experience in engineering, production, or maintenance.
• Engineering or project management experience with projects exceeding $100,000, including equipment installation and repair capital expenditures.
• Experience with PLCs and controls, including the ability to read and interpret PLC code.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a shop-floor environment.
• Availability to support summer and winter shutdowns, overtime, and holiday work is required.

Nice to have

• Experience editing and modifying PLC code, working with safety PLCs, or teaching robotic processes.
• Experience planning major equipment repairs in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Experience with automotive manufacturing, stamping, welding, painting, or listed stamping and weld equipment.
• OSHA 10 Certification.
