Senior Field Applications Engineer (FPGA)

Location: Remote in China, based in Shenzhen. Proof of the right to work in China is required.

What you will do

• Provide pre-sales technical support for FPGA and CPLD design-in projects, including device selection, architecture recommendations, demonstrations, training, and validation.
• Support customers throughout the FPGA development lifecycle through design reviews, tool training, timing constraints, code debugging, and board-level troubleshooting.
• Resolve technical challenges involving timing closure, resource utilization, device configuration, system integration, and field failures.
• Provide technical and quality support during production and post-production phases, including failure reproduction, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Train distributor FAE teams and provide project support to strengthen channel capabilities.
• Gather customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and industry trends for product planning and market strategy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Communications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 12+ years of electronics industry experience, including at least 5 years in FPGA development or senior FAE/AE technical support.
• Strong knowledge of FPGA design flows, including RTL design, simulation, timing analysis, implementation, and debugging.
• Proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL, plus Lattice Avant, Nexus, ECP, MachXO, Radiant, Diamond, and Propel technologies.
• Experience with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, SerDes, MIPI, DDR, Ethernet, HDMI, and DP/eDP, as well as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test equipment.
• Strong customer-facing communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Strong written and verbal English communication is required for collaboration with global R&D teams.

Nice to have

• Deep knowledge of at least two application areas, such as automotive electronics, industrial automation, video processing and bridging, or server systems.
