TL;DR
FPGA Design and Verification Engineer (FPGA): Designing, verifying, integrating, and documenting complex FPGA modules for control, communications, and digital signal processing platforms with an accent on RTL design, vendor IP integration, and product-level validation. Focus on developing simulation, emulation, and hardware test tools, executing component-to-system integration, and maintaining requirements traceability through release readiness.

Location: Wilton, Connecticut, United States; onsite presence required with remote work available up to two days per week.

What you will do

  • Define FPGA architectures, module interfaces, detailed designs, timing constraints, synthesis, place-and-route flows, and power utilization.
  • Develop RTL and integrate custom logic with hard and soft vendor IP cores for control, communications, and digital signal processing platforms.
  • Define and execute FPGA validation and verification strategies, test plans, procedures, and reports from component through system level.
  • Build simulation, emulation, and hardware test tools and bridge electrical systems with system software.
  • Manage requirements traceability, technical specifications, design decisions, risks, dependencies, and integration deliverables.
  • Lead technically complex work, coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams, and guide peers through technical execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
  • At least four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong FPGA design and verification expertise, including VHDL, RTL design, simulation, and verification.
  • Experience with FPGA tools and platforms such as ModelSim, Quartus, FPGA SoC, Avalon, AXI, and embedded NIOS processors.
  • Knowledge of verification methodologies and tools including UVM or OSVVM, SystemVerilog, Questa Sim, and Mentor CDC.
  • Ability to work onsite in Wilton, Connecticut; legal authorization to access United States-controlled technology is required before starting.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Altera High Level Synthesis, MATLAB, Simulink, Git, JIRA, LabVIEW, Python, and electronic laboratory equipment.
  • Knowledge of signal algorithms and experience with technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
