Head of Program Management (PMO) (Switchgear Manufacturing)

Location: US - Remote; travel required approximately 25% for customer visits, site meetings, and cross-site program reviews.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow the Program Management team while defining its structure, roles, career paths, methodologies, and governance.
• Own the execution of strategic initiatives and customer programs across scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and dependencies.
• Coordinate R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, and Supply Chain from customer requirements and design through production, release, and delivery.
• Lead program governance through stage-gate reviews, milestone tracking, change management, portfolio reporting, and executive updates.
• Represent program management with customers through program reviews, kickoffs, escalations, proposal support, and contract execution.
• Launch strategic programs and process improvements that increase predictability, delivery performance, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience manufacturing switchgear, switchboards, or related electrical power distribution equipment.
• Experience leading and building teams responsible for strategic, high-visibility customer programs.
• Demonstrated success managing complex cross-functional programs involving R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, and Supply Chain.
• Strong customer-facing communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, risk management, and executive presentation skills.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, engineered-to-order product development, and production scheduling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with e-house, skid-mounted equipment, or modular power packages.
• PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program/project management certification.
• Experience implementing or scaling a formal PMO in a manufacturing organization.
• Familiarity with UL, IEEE, NEMA, and NEC standards and codes.
• Experience with ERP/PLM systems and program management tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet.
