TL;DR
Supply Chain Engineer (Aerospace): Ensuring the quality and performance of aerospace components and materials from suppliers with an accent on supplier qualification, manufacturing oversight, and non-conformance management. Focus on driving root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, reducing recurring quality issues, and mitigating supply chain risks.

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite. The role requires travel up to 25% of the time and applicants must be U.S. persons or eligible to obtain an export license under ITAR and EAR regulations.

Salary: $110,000–$145,000 per year

What you will do

  • Manage vendor performance issues, non-conformances, supplier deviation requests, and production issue tickets.
  • Qualify parts and oversee supplier manufacturing processes to ensure component quality and reliability.
  • Partner with suppliers to implement corrective actions, containment measures, and process improvements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and reduce recurring quality issues and supply chain risks.
  • Manage receiving, precision inspection, MRB, RTV, CAPA, and related quality processes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Supply Chain Reliability teams, including providing technical support onsite at suppliers.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, or quality, plus a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of component manufacturing processes, quality standards, and certifications such as AS9100 and ISO 9001.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time and meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements.
  • Preferred experience includes 4+ years in Supplier Quality Engineering, aerospace or manufacturing, QMS, supplier audits, and non-conformance management.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Minitab, SAP, or similar ERP and quality management tools.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, or other data analysis platforms.
  • Experience driving root cause analysis and corrective actions across supplier organizations.
