Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States; occasional travel to supplier and test sites is expected. Typical hours are Monday to Friday, approximately 9:00 AM–6:00 PM onsite, with flexibility based on mission schedules.
Base salary: $125,000–$165,000 per year, plus potential equity.

What you will do
- Own sourcing and supplier execution for mechanical parts, assemblies, and subsystems from engineering release through manufacturing, testing, and delivery.
- Work with mechanical engineers to interpret drawings, GD&T, materials, tolerances, design intent, and test requirements.
- Select and execute manufacturing and testing paths using existing or new suppliers and internal capabilities.
- Find and qualify suppliers for machining, sheet metal, fabrication, additive manufacturing, special processes, assemblies, and specialized testing.
- Lead RFQs, quote evaluation, supplier selection, pricing and lead-time negotiations, and purchase execution.
- Drive supplier delivery and resolve schedule, quality, and manufacturing issues while building a network that supports rapid engineering iteration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, technical sourcing, supplier development, or hardware supply chain.
- At least one year of full-time experience as an internal employee at a VC-backed hardware startup during its Seed, Series A, or Series B stage.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand GD&T, materials, tolerances, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design intent.
- Experience working directly with suppliers on complex mechanical hardware from RFQ through delivery, including technical capability, quality, cost, and lead-time assessment.
- U.S. citizenship is required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; the role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
