Pipeline Technician

Location: Smithfield, West Virginia, United States. On-site work involving pipeline facilities, rights-of-way, meter and regulator stations, compressor stations, valve sites, and field inspections. Work includes 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

What you will do

• Maintain and operate pipeline facilities, valves, piping, meter stations, regulator stations, and related equipment.
• Perform pipeline start-ups and shutdowns, leak surveys, line locating, pigging activities, and maintenance shut-ins.
• Inspect rights-of-way, install pipeline markers, and oversee excavations and line crossings.
• Monitor and maintain remote compressor stations, natural gas engines, compressors, and valve sites.
• Record operating data, complete reports, and create work orders as needed.
• Complete required Operator Qualified tests for covered tasks and follow applicable operating procedures and regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to develop knowledge of pipeline operations, mechanical systems, equipment monitoring, repairs, engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
• Ability to apply safety procedures and comply with hazardous-material and pipeline regulations.
