Medical Assistant - Family Medicine (Laboratory)

Location: Grayslake, Illinois, United States; full-time onsite position shared between Grayslake Family Medicine and Internal Medicine clinics. Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with hours varying based on operational needs.

Salary: $21.54–$29.07 per hour

What you will do

• Support physicians, nurses, and licensed medical staff while maintaining efficient patient flow.
• Perform blood draws, venipuncture, specimen collection, ECGs, immunizations, and CLIA-waived testing according to established protocols.
• Prepare patients for examinations, obtain vital signs, document clinical information, and communicate significant changes to providers and nurses.
• Prepare, clean, disinfect, and stock exam rooms, equipment, instruments, vaccines, medications, and supplies.
• Promote patient satisfaction through professional communication and protect patient confidentiality.
• Participate in staff meetings, safety rounds, supply ordering, and other delegated clinic duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current certification as a medical assistant, or written proof of eligibility to sit for an eligible certification exam.
• Certification as CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA must be completed within the first six months of employment, with up to two test attempts.
• American Heart Association-accredited Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
• 0–2 years of experience in a relevant role and strong computer skills.
• Must work onsite in Grayslake, Illinois, Monday through Friday.

Nice to have

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
• One to two years of ambulatory care experience.
• Experience with electronic medical records.
