Certified Medical Assistant Primary Care Full-time Days

Location: 15300 West Av., Orland Park, Illinois, United States; onsite physician-office role

What you will do

• Room patients and provide direct and indirect care under physician or licensed nurse supervision.
• Record medical, surgical, and family histories, medications, vital signs, and other clinical documentation.
• Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing, including urine, finger-stick, strep, flu, pregnancy, culture, EKG, pulmonary, and chronic disease management testing.
• Prepare patients for procedures, assist with examinations and treatments, administer injections and medications as directed, and reinforce patient education.
• Maintain infection-control standards, clean and disinfect clinical areas, sterilize equipment, and troubleshoot office instruments.
• Use medical-record and practice-management systems for documentation, orders, results, referrals, and service charges.

Requirements

• Two or more years of recent medical-assisting experience in a physician office or completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
• Completion of a phlebotomy class or equivalent experience, basic computer knowledge, and accurate typing skills.
• Effective verbal and written English communication is required.
• New graduates and hires must obtain an accepted medical-assistant certification or registration within one year of hire; an active Illinois RN or LPN license may substitute for CMA certification.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in Medical Assisting.
• Second-language proficiency.
