Financial Analyst

Salary: $7,158.42–$10,292.25 CAD monthly

What you will do

• Prepare quarterly, semi-annual, and annual budgets, forecasts, interest income reports, and high-level financial summaries.
• Develop and maintain a 10-year rolling financial budget, perform variance analysis, and recommend sustainable expense and investment strategies.
• Analyze actual, budgeted, and forecasted data and prepare transparent financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
• Reconcile, review, and approve student awards and stipends, resolve disbursement issues, and prepare adjusting and year-end journal entries.
• Design and implement internal controls, financial operations, automated systems, and process improvements.
• Provide financial guidance and training to advisors, staff, leadership, and other stakeholders while guiding the Financial Processing Specialist.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Enrollment in the CPA Professional Education Program modules.
• At least three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience or demonstrated ability in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and account analysis.
• Ability to interpret complex financial data, communicate financial concepts, resolve discrepancies, and improve workflows and processes.
• Ability to work independently, exercise judgment and confidentiality, prioritize deadlines, and collaborate in a diverse multicultural environment.

Nice to have

• Experience managing general ledger activity, including accounts payable, cash management, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience with financial controls, policy interpretation, complex finance systems, and ERPs.
• Experience communicating with senior management and working with financial and non-financial stakeholders.
