Property Financial Controller (Casino & Hospitality)

Location: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. On-site duties include working on the casino floor; flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays are required.

What you will do

• Oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and internal control functions.
• Manage the monthly financial close, journal entries, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement integrity.
• Analyze departmental results, budget variances, profitability, performance trends, and operating data.
• Prepare financial reports and support quarterly and annual internal and external audits.
• Review legally required federal, provincial, and gaming-related tax filings and report significant issues to the Vice President of Finance.
• Develop team members through education, training, coaching, and corrective counseling.

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• CPA designation and the ability to obtain and maintain all required federal, provincial, and gaming licenses are required.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, audit management, gaming regulations, AML requirements, and regulatory compliance.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial reporting systems, and ERP or accounting software.
• Must be at least 19 years old and able to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.

• Experience in casino, gaming, hospitality, or another highly regulated environment.
• Prior experience opening new properties or outlets.
