Yield Development Engineer

Location: Hillsboro, Oregon, United States. The role follows a hybrid work model, splitting time between the assigned hirify.global site and off-site work.

Annual salary: $115,110–$219,550 USD, depending on work location, skills, experience, and education.

What you will do

• Develop yield improvement strategies and process development roadmaps from research and development through high-volume manufacturing.
• Analyze and consolidate manufacturing data to identify defect modes, yield limiters, and root causes.
• Build yield models, multivariate algorithms, and tools that convert structured and unstructured data into actionable insights.
• Apply machine learning, coding techniques, statistical analysis, fault isolation, and failure analysis to resolve yield-impacting issues.
• Collaborate with process integration, defect engineering, electrical fault isolation, and design teams to improve manufacturability.
• Support new product introductions, factory task forces, and process optimization initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical sciences, computer science, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience; or a master’s degree with 2+ years; or a PhD in a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience with data analysis systems and machine learning, optical probing or metrology, statistical process control and design of experiments, or full-stack and cloud-based application development.
• Experience in semiconductor processing, semiconductor devices, or nanotechnology.
• Knowledge of fault isolation, failure analysis, electrical testing, layout studies, semiconductor physics, or device interaction modeling is valuable.
• Ability to collaborate in cross-functional, matrixed organizations and communicate yield strategies to technical and business stakeholders.
