Process Engineer-Contract (Semiconductor)

Location: Albany, NY, United States; office-based role with 4–6 hours per day at a computer and occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds.

Salary: $78,485.94–$110,853.80 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and optimize plasma etch process formulations for pilot and production environments.
• Define equipment requirements and assess processing methods for compatibility, efficiency, and scalability.
• Compile and analyze test data to establish process limits, control parameters, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, R&D, manufacturing, quality, and scientific teams to resolve process challenges.
• Evaluate automation, materials, equipment, and new technologies for process development.
• Lead projects, mentor less experienced engineers, and contribute to process engineering standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, materials science, or a related field.
• Process Engineer I: no experience required; relevant experience or an internship is preferred.
• Process Engineer II: at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Process Engineer III: at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of semiconductor or hardware manufacturing, process development, data analysis, and statistical process control.
• Communication, teamwork, analytical problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
