2027 Energy Engineering Intern

Location: Ashland, Virginia; on-site five days per week. The posting also includes other opportunities that may be remote, hybrid, or on-site across North America.

Salary: $22.50–$31.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Support Energy Engineers and Account Managers in diagnosing energy opportunities and delivering small energy projects.
• Perform technical analysis, project reviews, and risk assessments for energy projects.
• Participate in building walk-throughs, field energy audits, site surveys, benchmarking, and customer interviews.
• Identify architectural, mechanical, and electrical energy conservation measures.
• Analyze building and system performance data, investigate trends and deviations, and prepare benchmark reports.
• Assist with reporting capabilities, investigate new technologies, and develop measurement and verification methods.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, preferably Energy, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, for the full internship period.
• Completed at least the sophomore year or second year before the internship begins.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or have legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
• Valid driver's license held for at least 12 months and proof of insurance.
• No major or frequent traffic violations, including recent DUI, hit-and-run, license suspension, reckless driving, or multiple preventable collisions.
• Ability to meet the requirements of a safety-sensitive role where applicable.
