Contracting Site Superintendent (HVAC)

Location: Field-based at customer locations in Knoxville or Chattanooga, Tennessee. The role requires on-site HVAC installation, occasional travel and overnight stays, and flexibility to work overtime or weekends.

Hourly base pay: $36.89–$49.92.

What you will do

• Lead daily field execution of commercial and industrial HVAC and construction projects.
• Perform hands-on installation of air handlers, rooftop units, chillers, boilers, pumps, ductwork, piping, controls, and related equipment.
• Coordinate customers, subcontractors, vendors, technicians, materials, schedules, and project activities.
• Conduct site surveys, preconstruction visits, equipment replacements, modifications, start-up, and commissioning.
• Maintain project schedules, cost awareness, field documentation, progress reports, and installation records.
• Enforce safety, quality, housekeeping, customer communication, and compliance requirements on each jobsite.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of commercial HVAC installation, mechanical construction, or general construction experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, installation practices, mechanical layouts, project plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Experience leading field teams and coordinating subcontractors is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations.
• Ability to work safely at heights, on ladders and rooftops, in confined areas, and in physically demanding conditions; ability to lift more than 40 pounds occasionally.

Nice to have

• Technical school or formal trade training.
• Experience with Procore or similar field documentation platforms.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and handheld technology.
