Building Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Richmond, Virginia, United States; onsite. Applicants must be authorized to work full time in the United States, and visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $32.60–$38.46 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections for building mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, life safety, fire protection, and security systems.
• Maintain daily operating logs for air conditioning, fan units, utility meters, graph charts, and general complaints.
• Handle building systems and tenant service requests efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Coordinate contractor, tenant, and management approvals for work orders.
• Monitor operating procedures and chemical treatment levels for cooling towers and boilers.
• Maintain relationships with property managers, suppliers, and department leaders while managing inventories, records, schedules, and reports.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in building or property maintenance, preferably in commercial buildings.
• CFC certification or the ability to obtain it.
• Working knowledge of HVAC maintenance, electrical and plumbing systems, energy management systems, and other building mechanical equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Availability for on-call after-hours and weekend emergency requests.
• Valid driver’s license, clear motor vehicle record, and current authorization to work full time in the United States.
