Associate Project Engineer (Energy Infrastructure)

Location: United States — Knoxville, Tennessee; office-based with travel to customer and project sites as needed

What you will do

• Support energy and infrastructure projects serving military housing communities.
• Visit customer and project sites to collect facility, equipment, utility, and operational data.
• Gather and analyze energy and performance data, perform quantity takeoffs, and support preliminary cost estimates.
• Evaluate energy efficiency, renewable energy, controls, and infrastructure improvement opportunities.
• Prepare technical narratives, engineering reports, project summaries, proposals, scopes of work, specifications, and design documentation.
• Track submittals, RFIs, action items, schedules, deliverables, construction support, commissioning, quality control, closeout, and measurement and verification activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, electrical, energy, civil, architectural, or related engineering.
• Up to two years of engineering, internship, co-op, research, construction, facilities, or project support experience.
• Ability to review confidential U.S. security information as required.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, controls, building systems, or renewable energy technologies.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, specifications, construction documentation, technical data analysis, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.

Nice to have

• Exposure to AutoCAD, energy modeling software, solar PV modeling tools, or other engineering software.
• Interest in pursuing Engineer-in-Training, Certified Energy Manager, or similar credentials.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing and willingness to travel to project sites.
