SAP ABAP Developer (S/4HANA)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $100,000–$165,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and develop custom ABAP programs, enhancements, BAPIs, BADIs, user exits, and interfaces in SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Build CDS views, AMDPs, HANA-optimized ABAP code, OData services, RESTful APIs, and SAP Gateway services for Fiori applications and non-SAP integrations.
• Develop ALV reports, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, and Fiori-aligned output channels.
• Analyze business requirements, create technical designs, perform unit and integration testing, and resolve UAT and post-go-live defects.
• Lead performance tuning using SAT, ST05, and HANA diagnostic tools, and support upgrades, system conversions, and clean-core remediation.
• Apply SAP security and governance standards, document technical work, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior developers.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 12+ years of professional ABAP development experience, including significant SAP S/4HANA experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong hands-on expertise with ABAP OO, CDS views, AMDPs, HANA-optimized ABAP, OData, Fiori integration, and enhancement frameworks.
• Experience with IDoc, RFC, BAPI, Web Services, SAP module data structures, SAT, ST05, SAP Solution Manager, ChaRM, and transport management.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, technical documentation, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with S/4HANA system conversions or greenfield implementations.
• Exposure to SAP BTP, ABAP RAP, or Steampunk.
• Experience with Fiori/UI5 development and SAP CPI / Integration Suite.
• SAP-certified ABAP developer credentials.
