Material Planner (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site five days per week in Hastings, Nebraska, United States

Annual base salary: $66,816.66–$93,309.99

What you will do

• Plan and schedule supplier deliveries for production, inventory, and MRO materials.
• Monitor purchased-item flow, material availability, inventory levels, and safety stock to prevent shortages and production downtime.
• Analyze requisitions, select approved suppliers, support supplier onboarding, and communicate forecasts and replenishment plans.
• Expedite deliveries, manage shortages, and coordinate with production planning, quality assurance, procurement, accounting, and other functional groups.
• Maintain ABC classifications, PFEP inputs, lead-time data, MRP parameters, and internal and SOMI/VMI replenishment settings.
• Evaluate supplier performance, resolve quality and invoicing issues, and identify cost, cash-flow, and corrective-action opportunities.

Requirements

• 2+ years of planner or buyer experience in manufacturing preferred.
• BA/BS degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience with production and supplier scheduling, operations, inventory management, MRP, and lean manufacturing preferred.
• ERP experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment and provide direction or training to peers.
• Basic mathematical skills; experience with rate-based or flow-line environments and visual management systems preferred.

Nice to have

• APICS CPIM or equivalent certification.
• Knowledge of supplier processes and capabilities.
