Vice President, Lead Underwriter (Commercial Real Estate Financing)

What you will do

• Lead underwriting and transaction management for commercial real estate loans across CMBS and balance sheet lending platforms.
• Direct credit analysis, cash flow analysis, sponsor assessment, property valuation, risk evaluation, and investment rationale.
• Engage with sponsors and brokers to negotiate deal terms, reserves, covenants, and structural provisions.
• Prepare and present underwriting recommendations and credit memoranda to approval committees.
• Run scenario and stress testing to support structuring and pricing decisions.
• Manage, train, and mentor Associates and Analysts while coordinating with capital markets, credit, legal, borrowers, and third-party advisors through closing.

Requirements

• 8+ years of commercial real estate underwriting and structuring experience, including CMBS and/or balance sheet lending.
• Experience underwriting major property types, including multifamily, office, retail, industrial, and hospitality.
• Experience leading transactions directly with sponsors and brokers.
• Experience managing or mentoring junior underwriting professionals.
• Strong writing, presentation, collaboration, and credit committee influencing skills.
• Bachelor's degree required; CFA or MBA is optional.
