Portfolio Manager III (Commercial Real Estate)

Location: In office at 400 Park Avenue, New York, New York, US

Starting base salary: $111,408–$189,738 per year, plus eligibility for bonus and/or commissions.

What you will do

• Manage an assigned commercial real estate credit portfolio, including underwriting credit exposures and responding to prospective client inquiries.
• Analyze borrower and guarantor financial statements, tax returns, projections, and cash flow pro formas to assess creditworthiness.
• Prepare underwriting memorandums, approval documents, and credit recommendations for presentation to Credit Risk.
• Monitor portfolio performance through risk ratings, covenant tracking, compliance reviews, and quarterly and annual reporting.
• Partner with Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, Sales, and other bank divisions to structure tailored CRE lending solutions and manage client relationships.
• Mentor junior colleagues, support continuous improvement, and participate in joint sales pitches and organizational projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of progressively increasing experience in credit underwriting and portfolio management in a relevant industry.
• Advanced knowledge of credit management, lending operations, and risk management principles.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and client-service skills.
• Ability to interpret complex data, make informed credit decisions, and work with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in the designated New York City office.
