Director, Corporate Accounting

Location: United States of America; flexible hybrid work options

Salary: $129,210–$281,305 per year, with potential discretionary annual bonus or commissions.

What you will do

• Lead corporate accounting for non-personnel expenses, including purchase order and legal accruals, network and cloud expenses, investments, and operating expenses.
• Oversee capitalized labor, internally developed software capitalization, lease accounting, and fixed assets.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of four accounting professionals responsible for monthly and quarterly close processes.
• Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, journal entries, reconciliations, variance analyses, and balance sheet reporting.
• Partner with FP&A, HR, Legal, Procurement, auditors, and business stakeholders on accounting matters, forecasting, controls, and audits.
• Drive automation and process optimization using AI tools such as Gemini, Copilot, and Claude.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; an advanced degree is preferred.
• CPA certification required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management experience in large public companies or complex organizations.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, corporate accounting, payroll, benefits, accruals, operating expenses, and fixed assets related to capitalized labor.
• Experience managing and developing accounting teams and working in fast-paced, matrixed environments.
• Experience with large ERP systems such as Oracle Financials and process automation initiatives is preferred.
