TL;DR
Service Repair Technician (Robotics): Repairing, testing, reworking, and upgrading complex robotic electro-mechanical assemblies for medical devices with an accent on troubleshooting, quality compliance, and traceable documentation. Focus on root-cause analysis, corrective-action verification, component-level failure investigation, and maintaining GMP, GDP, ESD, and safety standards.

Location: San Jose, California, United States of America. Onsite role in a laboratory and assembly environment; availability for an extended day shift from 8:00am to 4:30pm is preferred.

Salary: $57,500–$92,575 annually.

What you will do

  • Repair, rework, test, calibrate, and upgrade robotic platform subsystems, interfaces, and electro-mechanical components.
  • Disassemble and assemble mechanical and electrical components using hand tools, machines, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot test failures, identify root causes, verify corrective actions, and support failure analysis investigations.
  • Document test plans, repairs, results, conclusions, requirements traceability, and device history records for release decisions and audits.
  • Inspect workmanship, identify nonconforming products, and support manufacturing engineering investigations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Failure Analysis, R&D, and warehouse teams while maintaining safety and environmental controls.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–4 years of experience in medical devices or capital equipment.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and wiring schematics.
  • Experience configuring computer hardware and software, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of GMP and GDP principles and ability to follow quality-system procedures and work instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements.

Nice to have

  • Robotics repair support experience.
  • Agile PLM, SAP, MS Dynamics, or MES experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
