TL;DR
Maintenance Technician I (7:00pm-7:00am) (Medical Manufacturing): Maintaining and repairing automated medical IV solution, filling, and packaging manufacturing equipment with an accent on electrical systems, PLCs, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and preventive maintenance. Focus on troubleshooting high-speed production equipment, diagnosing electrical issues up to 480V three-phase, documenting work in CMMS, and supporting safe continuous improvement in a controlled manufacturing environment.

Location: Marion, North Carolina, United States. This is a full-time, onsite night-shift position from 7:00pm to 7:00am. The role requires work on holidays, some weekends, plant shutdown periods, and rotating assignments. Applicants must be authorized to work for an employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $52,800–$72,600 annually. Eligible external hires may receive a $3,500 sign-on bonus.

What you will do

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on automated medical manufacturing, filling, and packaging equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using schematics, multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, motor controls, variable-frequency drives, servos, robotics, pneumatic systems, hydraulics, sensors, and vision systems.
  • Perform equipment modifications, upgrades, new installations, unscheduled repairs, and timely responses to production trouble calls.
  • Document maintenance activities, work orders, and procedures in the CMMS while following GDP, EHS, and manufacturing SOP requirements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and department and site continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school training preferred.
  • At least 1–2 years of maintenance experience with automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with CMMS; Maximo is preferred.
  • Knowledge of PLC systems, including Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Omron, and experience with motor controls, drives, servos, stepper motors, packaging equipment, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical and building drawings, and part diagrams; electrical experience must include AC/DC motors and drives and systems up to 480V three-phase.
  • Fluent English is required. Candidates must understand cGMP regulations, write procedures, work in controlled clean-room environments, wear PPE, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
