Manufacturing Engineering Technician (Robotics)

Location: On-site in Hayward, CA or San Carlos, CA. Day shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, or swing shift: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM.

Salary: $30–$50 per hour plus equity.

What you will do

• Stand up and sustain manufacturing processes for mechanical assemblies, machined components, and wire harnesses.
• Improve scrap, rework, first-pass yield, and throughput through hands-on troubleshooting and SPC-driven analysis.
• Validate engineering changes through first article inspections and pilot builds.
• Maintain fixtures, harness boards, automated cells, and test stations.
• Investigate production failures, identify root causes, and implement lasting corrective actions.
• Coordinate with operators, design engineers, and quality teams to translate engineering intent into repeatable production builds.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, machining, or wire harness production.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical and/or electrical production issues.
• Ability to interpret work instructions, technical drawings, and build documentation.
• Working knowledge of crimping, connector assembly, harness routing, or precision mechanical assembly.
• Experience with inspections, in-process verification, or production testing such as continuity, isolation, hipot, or functional testing.
• Strong diagnostic, documentation, repeatability, safety, and workmanship standards.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting new product introduction or production ramp environments.
• Familiarity with SPC, yield tracking, and basic data analysis tools.
• Exposure to robotics, automation cells, or automotive/aerospace harness manufacturing.
• Experience with ECO implementation and first article inspections.
• Experience working with design and quality engineering on root cause investigations.
