Equipment Mechanic 3 (Automation)

Location: San Diego, CA, United States. On-site support for San Diego manufacturing operations, with travel between hirify.global facilities and occasional weekend or shift work.

Annual base salary: $59,200–$88,900, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Maintain and troubleshoot lyophilizers, liquid fillers, labeling machines, packaging machines, water systems, and filtration equipment.
• Implement and maintain an engineering change order system covering product improvements, repairs, and new product releases.
• Diagnose and repair low-voltage DC and AC electrical systems, mechanical systems, pneumatic equipment, and automation controls.
• Install electrical power and pneumatic distribution hardware.
• Coordinate with vendors on technical issues, parts, and costs, and maintain shop tools and equipment.
• Write procedures, documents, and reports while supporting equipment maintenance across multiple facilities.

Requirements

• High school, trade school, or military education with 8–10 years of related experience; alternatively, an associate degree with 5 years of experience or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, programmable logic controller, microprocessor, and automation control systems.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics and use hand tools, multimeters, and power tools.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required to support multiple facilities.
• Ability to operate mills, lathes, drill presses, and power saws, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; GMP environment experience is preferred.
