TL;DR
Facility Manager, Ohio (Wind Energy): Managing daily operations, maintenance, safety, reporting, and regulatory compliance for a utility-scale wind farm with an accent on balance-of-plant assets, substations, collection systems, and transmission equipment. Focus on coordinating outages and contractors, monitoring facility performance, maintaining electrical infrastructure, and engaging with landowners and community stakeholders.

Location: On-site at a utility-scale wind farm near Bellevue, Ohio; must reside within 50 miles of the facility's O&M building. The role includes 25% travel and may require 24/7 operational response, climbing, high-voltage switching, and work in physically demanding conditions.

What you will do

  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance of wind farm balance-of-plant assets.
  • Supervise OEM and third-party service providers, contractors, and site services.
  • Coordinate planned and unplanned substation maintenance, outages, repairs, inspections, and procurement.
  • Monitor electrical, structural, civil, communications, metering, and SCADA infrastructure, including substations, collection systems, transformers, and junction boxes.
  • Maintain operations logs and prepare safety, environmental, operational, regulatory, and downtime reports.
  • Represent Apex locally through landowner, community, and public interactions while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of wind site management experience; wind operations or utility experience is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience operating and maintaining substation, collection, and transmission equipment.
  • NFPA 70E accreditation and valid First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
  • Familiarity with NERC and other regulatory requirements, plus mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, strong leadership and communication skills, and willingness to respond to plant needs on a 24/7 basis.
