Manager of Utility & Energy

Location: Remote; willingness to travel throughout the United States required

hirify.global develops and operates energy-intensive infrastructure requiring utility capacity, interconnection, and power-market coordination.

What you will do

• Build and manage relationships with investor-owned, cooperative, and municipal utilities.
• Lead large-load service applications and interconnection processes, including studies, agreements, deposits, and milestones.
• Negotiate and manage electric service agreements and related utility agreements with Legal.
• Perform tariff and rate analysis and model power-cost scenarios for operating and prospective sites.
• Assess utility capacity, queue positions, and transmission and distribution expansion plans to inform site selection.
• Support power-related diligence, regulatory monitoring, utility planning discussions, and industry forums.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience and training considered.
• Six to ten or more years of experience in utility relations, energy procurement, interconnection, or power markets.
• Direct experience leading large-load applications and negotiating utility service or interconnection agreements.
• Fluency in tariff structures, rate design, and utility cost modeling.
• Understanding of investor-owned, cooperative, and municipal utility structures and decision-making processes.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and cross-functional coordination skills; willingness to travel throughout the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with data center, mining, or other large flexible-load customers.
• Familiarity with ERCOT, MISO, SPP, PJM, and transmission planning.
• Existing relationships with utilities in hirify.global’s operating regions.
