Revenue Accounting Lead (AI/SaaS)

Location: San Mateo, United States; hybrid

Salary: $230,000–$260,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Own global revenue accounting, including revenue recognition, contract review, close, reconciliations, reporting, and controls.
• Act as the technical accounting expert for ASC 606 and evaluate complex customer contracts.
• Prepare technical accounting memos and determine accounting treatment for non-standard terms, contract modifications, and variable consideration.
• Partner with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, FP&A, Billing, and Finance on new products, pricing models, and contract structures.
• Lead monthly and quarterly revenue close activities and support external audits.
• Build a high-performing revenue accounting team and improve workflows, systems, and data integrity through automation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with substantial technical revenue accounting experience.
• Deep expertise in ASC 606 and complex technology or SaaS contracts.
• Experience with usage-based, consumption-based, subscription, and enterprise contract structures.
• Experience managing revenue close processes, internal controls, and external audit relationships.
• Strong technical accounting research, memo-writing, systems, and automation skills.
• Experience in a high-growth technology company; CPA, public accounting, and Big Four experience are preferred.
