Maintenance Assistant (Part-Time)

What you will do

• Perform routine, preventive, and general maintenance throughout the community, including light electrical work, painting, and carpentry.
• Respond to maintenance requests from residents and staff and escalate work requiring additional resources.
• Monitor buildings, grounds, and equipment to maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
• Install and service equipment and prepare apartments for resident move-ins.
• Handle, store, and document chemicals and equipment in accordance with OSHA requirements, including maintaining SDS logs.
• Support emergency preparedness, monthly drills, and resident evacuations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of hands-on maintenance or related experience.
• Knowledge of maintenance and housekeeping practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and community guidelines.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Windows, Outlook, and Excel, with the ability to learn new applications.
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform other physical maintenance duties.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds using proper body mechanics.
