Maintenance Technician

Location: Washington, DC; 100% in-office with no remote or telecommuting option. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

Pay range: $26–$30 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs across building systems, restrooms, doors, furniture, floors, and equipment rooms.
• Replace lamps, air filters, ceiling tiles, and fire extinguishers; clean and inspect engineering and mechanical spaces.
• Support HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and process-control maintenance activities.
• Remove debris, move and sort materials, and drive employer-provided vehicles to obtain parts and supplies.
• Communicate with tenants, vendors, contractors, engineers, leadership, and client employees while providing maintenance updates.
• Follow PPE, OSHA, NEC, NFC, and NFPA requirements and report hazards during safety audits.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Technical or vocational training and/or 1–2 years of on-the-job training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, or plumbing.
• Basic knowledge of work-order and facility-operation applications, Microsoft Outlook, tools, blueprints, and code requirements.
• Required local, state, or national engineering and trade licenses.
• Ability to read and write English to understand manuals and procedures and prepare reports.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.
