TL;DR
Specialist, Procurement (Defense): Managing purchase order lifecycles, supplier sourcing, negotiations, and compliance for fabrication and complex electronics procurement with an accent on supplier performance, pricing, and government contracting requirements. Focus on developing RFQs, executing purchase and legal documents, mitigating supplier risks, and applying FAR/DFARS and Department of Defense procurement standards.

Location: Palm Bay, Florida, United States; onsite. The schedule is 9/80, with every other Friday off. Security clearance eligibility requires U.S. citizenship.

What you will do

  • Manage the full purchase order lifecycle for fabrication and complex electronics commodities.
  • Generate RFQs, establish grading criteria, and rationalize pricing for competitive and sole-source purchases.
  • Negotiate supplier pricing, lead times, payment terms, milestones, and contractual documentation.
  • Prepare purchase order packages, source justifications, commercial certifications, price justifications, and FAR/DFARS and DOD compliance documentation.
  • Develop supplier action plans, monitor performance metrics, and resolve support and non-conformance requests.
  • Communicate with leadership, suppliers, engineering, quality, compliance, and other cross-functional stakeholders while coaching peers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree and at least 2 years of related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
  • Strong attention to detail, interpersonal communication, negotiation, and results-delivery skills.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFARS, TINA and CAS thresholds, program flow-down requirements, quality assurance codes, and trade compliance laws.

Nice to have

  • At least 4 years of experience with MRP or ERP software.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma, data analytics, APQP, PPAP, supplier risk management, or supplier category management.
  • Knowledge of supply chain impacts on orders, sales, profit, and cash flow.
