Sr Purchasing Agent (Aerospace and Defense)

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland, United States; hybrid or office environment

Salary: $98,633.53–$135,621.11 annually, plus performance-based incentive pay

What you will do

• Oversee procurement of high-value and strategic materials, supplies, and services.
• Lead complex supplier negotiations, contract management, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Manage key supplier relationships to support quality and timely delivery.
• Monitor procurement performance metrics and resolve high-level supply chain issues and disputes.
• Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams on procurement strategies.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and federal regulations while mentoring junior procurement staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 6+ years of related experience, or 10+ years of related experience without a degree.
• Expert proficiency in procurement processes and principles.
• Procurement experience.
• Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment, sit for extended periods, and perform computer-based data entry and document review.
• Ability to travel occasionally for supplier visits.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. security clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Procurement or supply chain certification such as CPSM or CPIM.
• Significant aerospace and defense industry experience.
• Advanced expertise with procurement software, ERP, P2P, or S2P systems.
