Business Systems Analyst (Contractor)

Location: Hybrid in Irvine, CA or Los Angeles, CA

Compensation: Hourly rate or other contract-based arrangement; final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, scope of work, engagement type, market conditions, and business needs.

hirify.global is engaging a Business Systems Analyst for a project-based business transformation engagement supporting a client’s business systems group.

What you will do

• Elicit, define, and document business and system requirements with project managers and business stakeholders.
• Translate business rules and process definitions into functional specifications, data mapping requirements, and technical user stories.
• Support the rollout, testing, and implementation of a standardized global process and associated systems scheduled to launch in 2027.
• Create process maps, workflow diagrams, user stories, training materials, standard operating procedures, and user manuals.
• Facilitate User Acceptance Testing by writing test cases, tracking defects, and coordinating business-user sign-off.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, identify delivery risks and scope creep, and propose mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience as a Business Systems Analyst, preferably in healthcare, medical devices, or life sciences.
• Strong experience with process mapping, requirements gathering, and complex system implementations.
• Proficiency with requirements management, ticketing, and documentation tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Visio, or Lucidchart.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum, SDLC, data mapping, system integrations, APIs, and middleware.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, onboard quickly, and collaborate across business, technical, project management, and vendor teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulatory or compliance-driven environments involving FDA, HIPAA, or the Sunshine Act.
