Manager of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting

Location: Tysons, Virginia, United States; employees work from the office 4 days a week

Base salary: $150,000–$170,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Research technical accounting issues and prepare memoranda describing applicable U.S. GAAP guidance and financial statement impacts.
• Prepare Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, 8-K, related financial schedules, and quarterly XBRL reporting.
• Support new accounting standard implementation, development-cost capitalization analysis, and quarterly credit-loss calculations.
• Review customer, vendor, and lease contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
• Support acquisition due diligence and purchase accounting, including coordination with valuation experts on intangible assets.
• Perform financial reporting controls and support external audits, quarterly reviews, and year-end procedures.

Requirements

• Degree in accounting and an active CPA license.
• 6+ years of progressive public accounting or corporate financial reporting experience; Big Four experience is preferred.
• Experience researching technical accounting issues and drafting accounting memoranda.
• Experience preparing or reviewing 10-Q and 10-K filings for a publicly traded company.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, audit methodologies, and financial reporting controls.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, project management, and collaboration skills.
