Director, Construction Management, ANS (Transit)

Location: New York City, NY or Boston, MA, United States. Hybrid work includes remote work, onsite work at client locations, and time in an hirify.global office or center.

What you will do

• Provide executive leadership across pre-construction, procurement support, construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Oversee multiple design-build and alternative delivery contracts against scope, schedule, budget, risk, and compliance requirements.
• Lead contract administration, change management, claims avoidance and resolution, risk management, and governance.
• Direct multidisciplinary construction management, design support, quality, safety, environmental, and stakeholder teams.
• Coordinate permitting, utility relocations, traffic control, community impacts, and relationships with jurisdictions and regulatory agencies.
• Manage project controls, cost and schedule systems, risk tracking, executive briefings, Board reports, and stakeholder presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• At least 15 years of progressively responsible experience managing and delivering major rail and transit infrastructure projects of comparable size and complexity.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; New York licensure is strongly preferred.
• Experience managing complex stakeholder environments, multidisciplinary teams, contracts, schedules, budgets, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement across remote work, client sites, and hirify.global offices or centers in the United States.

Nice to have

• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
• Experience with MTA, NJT, Amtrak, or comparable large urban and rail transit systems.
• Knowledge of MTA policies, procedures, project delivery frameworks, and the NY/NJ stakeholder landscape.
• Experience with Design-Build, CM/GC, P3, federal funding programs, construction claims, and dispute resolution.
• Experience coordinating with municipalities, public works departments, utilities, and permitting authorities in the Greater NYC metro area.
