BSN Online Program Mentor (Nursing Education)

What you will do

• Provide proactive mentoring, advising, tutoring, and academic coaching to BSN students throughout the program.
• Assess learning styles, academic needs, and progress, then create individualized support and Next Generation NCLEX readiness plans.
• Maintain outreach to at-risk students, support retention initiatives, and report progress and outcomes to academic leadership.
• Coordinate virtual labs, support nursing skills practice and remediation, and serve as faculty in virtual lab settings when needed.
• Evaluate skills validations and provide limited lecture, lab, clinical, or simulation instruction, up to 50% of FTE.
• Collaborate with faculty and academic partners while documenting student progress and learning outcomes.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Nursing.
• At least five years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical practice setting.
• At least two years of experience in an academic environment, classroom instruction, or specialized tutoring and support.
• Current, unencumbered Illinois RN license and current, unencumbered compact RN license required.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• Experience with Canvas LMS, Microsoft Office, online communication, student support, analytical problem-solving, and documentation.

Nice to have

• At least one year of online teaching, tutoring, or coaching within a prelicensure nursing program.
• Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) certification.
