Head Start Systems Specialist – Service Area VI – Remote

Location: Home-based in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, or Texas; nationwide U.S. remote office with extensive travel within the assigned region, to the Washington, D.C. metro area, and elsewhere as needed.

Salary: $67,355–$114,503 annually for full-time employment.

What you will do

• Provide subject matter expertise, consultation, and resources to Regional Office and technical assistance staff.
• Coordinate with Head Start associations, state collaboration offices, education departments, and local education agencies.
• Aggregate and analyze regional data to identify coordination and collaboration issues across early childhood systems.
• Participate in regional meetings with state-level early childhood systems partners.
• Provide direct technical assistance to Head Start and Early Head Start grantees.
• Support emerging Office of Head Start initiatives and priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in management, communication, education leadership or administration, early childhood education, child development, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience, including three years providing technical assistance and consultation to Head Start or state and federal early childhood, education, or human services systems.
• Experience facilitating collaborations, supporting management teams and program staff, analyzing data, and helping programs make data-driven decisions.
• Experience facilitating group discussions, presenting to varied audiences, and communicating effectively in writing and verbally.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, planning, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work from one of the Service Area VI states and travel extensively is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Head Start performance standards and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Experience with early learning policies, child care licensing, subsidy administration, QRIS, child assessment, or state prekindergarten programs.
• Experience with Smartsheet, Tableau, and Microsoft Office.
