Coder Quality Auditor (Healthcare Coding)

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States. Travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate offices may be required as business needs dictate.

Salary: $57,400–$99,000 annually, based on experience.

What you will do

• Conduct monthly, quarterly, baseline, and special-project quality audits of inpatient and outpatient professional fee coding.
• Assess coder performance, identify education needs, and perform follow-up reviews to measure comprehension and improvement.
• Create presentations, handbooks, training materials, coding aids, and other educational resources.
• Support coding operations with initial coding, edits, denials, and appeals as needed.
• Serve as a technical resource on CMS, AMA, HIPAA, and professional coding standards.
• Prepare audit findings and compliance-risk reports for coding leadership, providers, and clients.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of coding experience and 3 years of auditing experience.
• Current certification in at least one of the following: CPC, CCS-P, CCS, CPMA, RHIA, or RHIT.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with multiple EMR systems, encoders, and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, medical and surgical terminology, and professional coding guidelines.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.
